Remembering Our Soldiers

We had a great FHE this evening. Everyone was asked to bring a picture of someone they knew who has served in or is currently serving in the armed forces. It was good to hear everyone's stories of family members who have served our country. The picture above was taken of the photos everyone brought - Sister Mayo brought a life sized "picture" :o)

We also participated in a small service project - Sister Mayo and her daughter belong to the Daughters of the American Revolution. One of the projects they are involved in is sending care packages to service men and women so we packed a box with enough left over to fill a second box.
Of course we ended the evening with yummy treats - Sister Sheen's trifle was a hit!!

Mayo's in Australia & New Zealand

Margaret and Frank Mayo shared some wonderful experiences and pictures of their trip to Australia & New Zealand with the group. They did such a good job that all agreed, this is a trip we'd all like to take. The picture to the left is titled "The Hit of the Evening". Can you guess who it is?

FHE "On the Patio"

We had a wonderful time at our January FHE - it was on the Christensen's patio and we couldn't have had better weather!! Sister Mayo gave us a wonderful lesson (pictured) and Brother Christensen gave us some thoughts to ponder as well. Sister Christensen's cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate gave it a special touch as well as Sister Beasley's "secret recipe" cookies! It was a wonderfully relaxing night!! Thank you to everyone who contributed!!

Empty Nesters FHE - October 2008

Have we told you just how much fun we have at our Empty Nesters Family Home Evening? We meet once a month and have a really good time. This month we had a costume party - everyone who was able to come, dressed up - boy did we have some good ones! The winners were Patti Wienken for Most Original, Dan Barber for Scariest and truly the BEST OVERALL was Brother Frank Mayo!!! Brother and Sister Mayo just could not be more fun!
A huge Thank You to everyone who came and made it a fabulous night!! As Brother Felix said "We should do this again next year!" - looking forward to it!!
